Exclusive Hints, Tips, Special Offers and More!
Welcome to the first issue of the Sac City Tech Media Bytes
The goal is to provide valuable information to help you in your business. Some of our hints and tips will be based on our technical and media expertise and some will be non-technical experience obtained from 34 years of corporate experience as well as from training attained at various seminars outside of the corporate world. Hopefully this will be useful to all business owners.
In this first issue are the contents of a presentation recently shared with some of the local networking groups.
The topic is “Business Internet Basics”.
Websites
You Need One! – Very Affordable
A stand-alone website is more cost effective than DYI Sites (.i.e wix, squarespace, etc.) because once it’s built, the yearly cost is much lower than the DYI option.
Customers research you online – You control what your website viewers see and there are far less distractions on your own website
Your Website is your online hub, your central on-line location
Point everything to everything – Website to Social Media and Social Media to your website
You want a website that is SEO Friendly – Have a website built that has these features and is mobile friendly
SSL (https://www.yourdomain.com) Same Encryption used by banks. Data transmission will not be viewable if intercepted during transmission
eMail
YOU NEED EMAIL IN YOUR OWN DOMAIN (i.e. yourdomain.com)
Don’t put free email accounts on your business cards or materials, it’s just not professional. Would Bill Gates have BillGates@gmail.com to do business? Of course not.
Good Content Is Important
